The Weekly Update from Marceline UMC
Marceline UMC
March 30, 2020
Hello Church!
We're getting ready to start our second full week of reduced activities. The good news is that we're starting to get some things figured out! We're getting used to using Zoom for gatherings, and we've had several folks through the church helping answer the phone and directing folks to more information. We even had a great food drive! There's more information on that later.
We still don't know when our current situation will end. We're evaluating that on an ongoing basis. Most important, follow the instructions that come from the CDC and from our local officials, and keep our community, nation, and world in prayer. We will get through this.
If you know folks that have some questions about where to get help, take a look at this flyer, or have them call the church at 660-376-2444
To help with that, in this email you'll find links to different ways of gathering online as a church, and at the bottom you'll find a copy of a flyer that has additional resources that our community is putting together.
Also, if you have prayer concerns, or even joys that you want to share with everyone, you can easily get them to me by clicking on this link.
If you haven't signed up yet, and would like to help answer phones, please sign-up. We've adjusted some of the times, and will continue to do so as we go forward. Thank you to everyone who has helped with that so far.
Our parting shot this week is from our Food Drive last week. Take a look at it, at the end of this email.
Remember you can forward these emails on to folks that might be interested and they can subscribe to our email list to stay up-to-date on things.
Have a great week!
Peace,
Pastor John

This was a tremendous response on only a few days notice, and only open for two days! Thank you to everyone who donated food and to the folks who contributed $3,300 in cash donations. This is going to go a long way in helping others in our community. We're having our first special food pantry distribution today (3/30).
