Hello Church,
Before I get to everything else. Big news!! Next Sunday we’ll be back in the Sanctuary! Join us at 10:10 back upstairs! (this is assuming everything goes well with the audio and video install)
Thank you to everyone who brought food in for the Sacking Hunger food drive. You can see a picture of it below!! There’s also a couple of links that tell you how much was collected. As the article points out, we didn’t have to go into overtime to know this one.

California-Nevada Conference of The UMC | Elk Grove UMC brings in 504 lbs. of food for Super Bowl Challenge
Also, a big thank you to Donna and Cindy for organizing Kip Sibley’s baby shower!! We had a great time after church as we got to celebrate him and Jamie and Jason.
From Sunday School on Sunday, I had a few questions for reflection that I had for folks to reflect on. I’ve got them below for you to think about this week. One of the hardest things that we can do is to surrender to God and follow his will. This is what we watch John Wesley do. It was where he struggled. Next Sunday we’ll step into what makes it possible for us to do this work, but we can’t really do it if we don’t know where we’re coming from. So take some time for these questions.
How do you continue to try and “do” things to win over God? (where do you think “if I just take care of this one last thing, then I’ll be okay?)
What do you need to surrender to God? (what gets in the way?)
What practices do you have to sustain you? (prayer, Bible reading, journaling, conversations, etc)
