Hello Church,
Yesterday in worship we made our way through the story of the Walk to Emmaus….with a brief stopover in the world of Doctor Who. The main point being that after Easter we are living in a new creation, a new world that is opened up by Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Because of that, we have hope for a new life, and the chance to tell the story of how we got here.
Telling the story isn’t about making sure you tell everyone that you come across, but that we follow how Jesus did this with the disciples on the way to Emmaus. He first walked with them, then he listened to their story. Following that, he told the story about his life death and resurrection in a way that they could understand. Then he broke bread with them and they knew that he was present with them.
It can often feel like it is hard to tell the story of Jesus, but we do it best when we first stop to listen and spend time with other people (especially around a meal). That can go a very long way to telling Jesus’ story, and make new friends along the way.
To help with that, start watching for sign-ups for small groups. Those will be starting in the next week or so. I’m excited to see what we will do with them!
Important Announcements
If you have a senior graduating from High School, College, Trade School, etc, let us know! We’ll celebrate their accomplishments on May 15th during the 10:10 in person worship service. We’ve also got a sign-up in the back of the sanctuary for food for the Senior Breakfast.
Next Sunday I’ll starting teaching a Sunday School class on the Lord’s Prayer at 9am. Everyone is welcome to come join us for that. It is the most important prayer that we have, and it grounds us in God’s presence. You can see a trailer for it below.
You’ve probably noticed that we have something new in the pews. We’ve got prayer cards! On Sunday morning you can share your prayer concerns during the offering, and I’d also like for you to fill out a card as well and put it in the offering plate or give it to me. That information will help us stay up with all of our folks who need prayer.
Sign-Ups
There are sign-up sheets in the back for Celebrate Recovery. This includes volunteer leaders for meals for the next six months, and a sign-up for the May meal. Take a look at them and see how you can help.
Finally, we’re looking for folks that would like to serve communion and anyone who would like to help get the bread and the juice ready for communion Sundays. You can sign-up in the back of the Sanctuary, or by clicking here.
Parting Shot
This week’s pictures come from our garden, or at least the start of it. We’re planted and ready for everything to grow. Take a look at the end of the email to see it.

New Driveway
We’re working on replacing the driveway in the parking lot that has been known to swallow small cars. It should be replaced sometime in May. If you would like to help with the cost of this, you can simply write driveway in the memo line of a check or on an envelope. You can also give online and choose driveway from the category options.
Send a note or a message to these folks!
Get caught up!
You can always get caught up on sermons if you’re behind. Each Sunday’s message is posted by Friday of the next week (most of the time much sooner than that).

The garden is started! We’ve got a wide variety of things planted this year. This includes some new additions. We’ve got some rasberry bushes planted (with other berries joining soon) and some big planter boxes that you don’t have to bend over to get into. Watch to see how it all grows this Summer!
