Hello Church,
Happy Easter!
Christ the Lord is Risen!
He is Risen indeed!
It is a good week this week. We had a wonderful Easter celebration Sunday morning, and it felt more like the Easters that we know. Between the two services we had about 130 folks in attendance in person, and about another 20 that joined us online. We had a great egg hunt, and a good breakfast. We didn’t even let the sleet stop us. Its been good.
Last week was a good, big week for us. Orpha met and had a great program from Mobility Worldwide (formerly PETS). They’ve also got a special project they’re working on that we’ll find out more about in the coming weeks. But for a taste of it, check out the video below of a few of the ladies trying out one of the carts.
In addition to all of that, we started out Holy Week with a service at 7am Monday morning with great attendance (and we continued to various churches around town the rest of the week). We celebrated Maundy Thursday and all of that before Easter morning where our 7am service was led by our music small group.
Keep that excitement of Easter going through this week! And not just this week, but through the rest of the year. Listen for God’s voice as he calls us to be his Easter people.
Important Announcements
If you have a senior graduating from High School, College, Trade School, etc, let us know! We’ll celebrate their accomplishments on May 15th during the 10:10 in person worship service.
You’ve probably noticed that we have something new in the pews. We’ve got prayer cards! On Sunday morning you can share your prayer concerns during the offering, and I’d also like for you to fill out a card as well and put it in the offering plate or give it to me. That information will help us stay up with all of our folks who need prayer.
Sign-Ups
Watch for some new sign-ups that will be coming.
Finally, we’re looking for folks that would like to serve communion and anyone who would like to help get the bread and the juice ready for communion Sundays. You can sign-up in the back of the Sanctuary, or by clicking here.
Ukraine
What we can do to help is first to pray that this comes to an end quickly. The second thing that we can do is give in help and support. One of the easiest is to give through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). They have an international fund that is currently devoted to helping the folks in Ukraine. Just click on the link to give, or you can give through the church just write Ukraine on your checks.

This week’s picture is always one of my favorites from Holy Week and the Communion Table on Thursday. Take a look at the end of the email to see it.

Celebrate Recovery
You all know what great work CR is doing, and we’ve been helping by providing meals once a month. How would you like to help more? They’re looking for additional help with kids and youth. Even if you can commit to just one Monday a month (from 6:30-8:30) that would be a great ministry! If you can serve in that way, contact Angela Taylor at 660.734.2175
Send a note or a message to these folks!
Get caught up!
You can always get caught up on sermons if you’re behind. Each Sunday’s message is posted by Friday of the next week (most of the time much sooner than that).

The table set for the Last Supper and for our celebration of Maundy Thursday is special to me. Its a time when we celebrate communion in ways that we don’t at any other time of the year. This year the Bible was open to the story of the Last Supper, and the keys to the left of the table were for the Easter Escape room that led us through the events after the dinner. In between was our time when we shared stories and ate together. It was a good night.
