Your Weekly Update from Marceline UMC
Hello Church, We are halfway through Lent and we will continue to talk about prayer and different ways to pray. If you haven’t seen it yet a mosaic glass cross is being created on the back table in the sanctuary. Stop by on Sunday morning or anytime you like and take a minute to breathe, pray and create. Everyone can do this, no art skills required. And now, may we be united as the body of Christ, enabling us to carry the peace and love of God to the world and our community. Amen!
Things to know
Ministries in Linn County Lenten Worship Service at Marceline UMC
Wednesday 3/26 we will be hosting the Ministries in Linn County Lenten Worship Service at noon. All are welcome.
Mom’s Group
We have launched a new ministry. Come meet other moms and grow in faith together. Please contact Hilary Moore at 660-734-3766 for further information

Camp Registration
Registration is open for Camp Jo-Ota this summer. You can register by following this link https://www.campjo-ota.org/jma_camps.html The cost of camp is covered for all Marceline UMC campers. When you register please use code MAR100
Youth Silent Auction
During worship on March 30th the youth will be holding a silent auction for various goods and services. The items and services will be at the rear of the sanctuary and you will be able to bid on them during the hymns. Proceeds will go to youth missions and camp.
Holy Week Schedule
April 13 - Palm Sunday
Tuesday April 15 - Marceline UMC hosts Lenten Breakfast
Thursday April 17 (Maundy Thursday) - Dinner & Service in the fellowship hall starting at 5:30
Friday April 18 (Good Friday) - Ministries in Linn County Lenten Service - Noon at First Christian Church in Brookfield.
7pm - Tenebrae Service at Meadville UMC
As soon as I have the Marceline breakfast service schedule I will post it.
Palm Sunday & Easter Schedule for Elementary & Preschool
Palm Sunday April 13 10:30 bringing in the palms at the start of worship 10:30. We will dye eggs during Sunday School (may want to wear old clothes or a big shirt to cover clothing.)
Easter Sunday April 20 there is an Easter Breakfast for all who want to attend from 8 - 9:30. At 9:45 there will be an egg hunt for the elementary & preschool students. There is no Sunday School class at 10:45.
Radio Readings
If you always dreamed of being on the radio, here is your chance. Zoe is recruiting volunteers to read short scripture passages on the radio. See Zoe for more information.
Charge News
Marceline is now on a charge (two or more churches that are placed together for ministry) with Meadville UMC. This section will contain information from Meadville UMC about events and groups that are meeting with a warm invitation to anyone who would like to attend..
Exercise Class
Exercise class has resumed and is held Tuesdays and Thursday at 10am in the Meadville UMC fellowship hall.
Meadville UMC - Prayer Shawl Group
The next Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting is at Meadville UMC on March 20th at 1:30pm. Anyone who crochets or knits or would like to learn for this ministry is welcome to attend. Quilters interested in making prayer lap robes are also invited. We will use this meeting to restart and reorganize and plan our next steps. You are welcome to come even if you are just interested in learning what the ministry is about.
