It's Dedication Sunday
Brunch is at 10am and worship at 10:30. Bring something tasty to share :)
This weekend is going to be a special one. If you’re joining us online, have some bread and juice ready for communion. It won’t be consecrated like it is during our in person worship, but you can still join with us. For our in person worship we’re outside, dedicating our boat and garden. We’re focusing on boat stories for now where Jesus and his disciples spent a lot of time on boats, and through them we can be renewed in life, faith, and hope for the future.
Sunday for in person worship bring lawn chairs, blankets, and something tasty to eat. We’ll start with Brunch at 10am and then worship at 10:30. Its going to be a great day!
Our online worship, is a recording of our previous week's in person worship service. We do that so that we can share in a higher quality of worship together. Even though the service is recorded, Pastor John is down in the comments of the service every weekend.
You can find links to our YouTube Channel for the service, worship music, and a Spotify playlist for more music. You can click on the link to find our previous services too.
You can worship on Facebook, Sunday mornings at 9am, in person at 10:10am, or follow the service below at any time.
What comes next is the order of service for our online worship service.

Opening Prayer
O God, you are our light and our salvation. Living in your presence, we have nothing to fear. Open our hearts to your word this day. As we hear the story of the call of the first disciples, make us ready to follow Jesus on whatever path he leads us. Cast aside our fears and doubts, and teach us to trust wholly in you. For we ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I Come with Joy--UMH 617
Children's Message—Pastor John
Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, Witness
As people of faith, we share who we are with each other. Below I invite you to share your joys and concerns, your prayer requests, and your offerings. You can use the link below, or in the comments
Share a joy, concern, and/or prayer request
Remember that you can mail in your offerings to:
Marceline UMC
321 N Kansas Ave
Marceline, MO 64658
You can also give online.
Take some time for some personal prayer, and take some time to give. This could be the time when you go online, or you write a check to the church, or when you make that commitment to give in a different way.
After the personal prayer, I'll say a prayer (if you're watching the video), and then join in saying the Lord's Prayer below.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen
Scripture Reading
Our scripture reading for worship is Matthew 4:18-22
As you are able, please stand for the reading of God's Word.
18As Jesus walked alongside the Galilee Sea, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, throwing fishing nets into the sea, because they were fishermen. 19“Come, follow me,” he said, “and I’ll show you how to fish for people.” 20Right away, they left their nets and followed him. 21Continuing on, he saw another set of brothers, James the son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father repairing their nets. Jesus called them and 22immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Leader: This is the word of God, for the people of God
People: Thanks be to God!
Where He Leads Me--UMH 338
Today's Message: From the boats
This is the story where Jesus calls his disciples. But he doesn’t end there. Where is he calling to from and to go where?
Holy Communion
As you have bread and juice ready, share in the elements of communion. They aren’t consecrated like they would be during our in person worship, but you can still share in this time with all of us who have gathered.
Tell Me the Stories of Jesus--UMH 277
Benediction
As the disciples walked with Christ so long ago, walk with Christ in your hearts and spirits. Feel the power of the Holy Spirit guiding your path. Know the love of God which is poured out for you and rejoice. Go in peace and may God’s peace go with you. AMEN.
