Hello Church,
Did you read the subject line of this email and finish it with a well known cliche? If you did, that’s okay. I did too. The line goes, “keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.” If you watch enough TV and movies, you’ll hear that at some point. But really, the first part of the line is the most important. Keep your friends close. This coming Sunday we’re going to jump into the middle of one of the only friendships that we have in the Bible, that’s the story of David & Jonathan. Be sure to join us Sunday morning to find out more!
In other news, if you are interested in being a liturgist, giving a children’s sermon, or helping in the nursery. If you are already doing that, you don’t need to sign-up again, but do talk to me if you want to make a change for this year. These are excellent places to get involved, and they’re open for all ages. So give it a thought, pray about it, and see where you would like to sign-up.
Also, watch for new opportunities this year for how we can come together as a church and share that with others around us. I’m looking forward to what God is doing.

Important Announcements
Charge Conference
Yesterday we had our Annual Charge Conference. If you aren’t sure, or don’t remember what that is, its an annual gathering with our District Superintendent where we formally vote on business of the church, and we gather with other churches to talk about what’s going on. I want to say a big thank you to the folks who came out for it. It was a little more challenging over Zoom, but next year we’ve got some good plans in place for it. If you want to see some of what we talked about, you can see our charge conference packet by clicking on the link.
New 5 series Sunday School Session starting January 29th called:
Easter, by J.D. GREEAR
The resurrection is the most important moment in history, but it is more than an event we remember on Easter Sunday. Join pastor J.D. Greear as he takes a deeper look at Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection in the Gospel of Matthew, revealing the ways we should see ourselves in Jesus’s story. Jesus died for us so that he could be alive in us today. Easter changes everything.
We will start on Sunday, Jan 29th.
