Hello Church,
I forgot to announce it during worship yesterday, but it did get out on Facebook yesterday and you’ll get it now in case you can join us. We’ll be sending Cheryl Cavanah off in true Marceline style today at 11am at Ma Vic’s. Come down and join the ladies with Orpha Circle as we share pie and lunch together.
Yesterday in the message we talked a lot about worrying. When we worry, we often do that in the same places. One of the things to recognize is that when we can name the places, then we can better understand how to cope with them.
What that does for us is helps us to forestall the worst parts of worrying (not all worrying is bad). When we figure that out, we can start coping when we get to the place where we worry. Most important in this is where we keep our attention. When we keep our attention on Jesus, the worrying doesn’t have control over us. Doesn’t mean that it will go away, but it means that it won’t control us. When Jesus is the one in control, then we have power over our worries.
In so many ways, this week feels like a big one. So, my advice, keep you attention in the right place, and know that Jesus stays with us, all the way through.

Someone had a birthday last week on the same day that we were singing out at Pioneer. I got surprised when all of a sudden a cake showed up (that was really tasty) with my name spelled out in gummy worms and exactly 42 gummy bears on it. And it didn’t end there. I had gift bags full of all sorts of gummy candies in them. All of that makes for a very happy preacher! Thank you Beverly for the cake, and all the ladies in Orpha that didn’t just show up and sing really well with the folks at Pioneer, but also helped make my birthday a special one.
