This Sunday We Find Land for the Boats
Join us for worship! Don't forget to sign up for a listening session
Welcome to Worship!
We’re glad to join you in worship this weekend! If you have a card for Scott and Laura to congratulate them on their wedding, the basket is still in the back of the sanctuary for them. We started our listening sessions this weekend, and we have one after our in person worship this Sunday and you are welcome to attend. You can sign up for them by clicking on the link.
Our online worship, is a recording of our previous week's in person worship service. We do that so that we can share in a higher quality of worship together. Even though the service is recorded, Pastor John is down in the comments of the service every weekend.
You can find links to our YouTube Channel for the service, worship music, and a Spotify playlist for more music. You can click on the link to find our previous services too.
You can worship on Facebook, Sunday mornings at 9am, in person at 10:10am, or follow the service below at any time.
What comes next is the order of service for our online worship service.

Opening Prayer
Lord, when the winds pick up, the waves get bigger, and the water comes in, remind us where to look. Open our eyes to see you walking to us from places we don't expect. In that moment, help us to trust that you will bring us safely to the shore. In Jesus name, Amen

Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, Witness
As people of faith, we share who we are with each other. Below I invite you to share your joys and concerns, your prayer requests, and your offerings. You can use the link below, or in the comments
Share a joy, concern, and/or prayer request
Remember that you can mail in your offerings to:
Marceline UMC

You can also give online.
Take some time for some personal prayer, and take some time to give. This could be the time when you go online, or you write a check to the church, or when you make that commitment to give in a different way.
After the personal prayer, I'll say a prayer (if you're watching the video), and then join in saying the Lord's Prayer below.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen
Scripture Reading
Our scripture reading for worship is John 6:16-25
As you are able, please stand for the reading of God's Word.
16When evening came, Jesus’ disciples went down to the lake. 17They got into a boat and were crossing the lake to Capernaum. It was already getting dark and Jesus hadn’t come to them yet. 18The water was getting rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19When the wind had driven them out for about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the water. He was approaching the boat and they were afraid. 20He said to them, “I Am. Don’t be afraid.” 21Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and just then the boat reached the land where they had been heading.
22The next day the crowd that remained on the other side of the lake realized that only one boat had been there. They knew Jesus hadn’t gone with his disciples, but that the disciples had gone alone. 23Some boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they had eaten the bread over which the Lord had given thanks. 24When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. 25When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
