From Pastor John
A couple of Sundays ago, we started a new series during our in person worship, and I called the season that starts on Halloween, Food Season. This is the time of year when we really and truly eat a lot of food, and have food around for just about everything. And don’t judge me to harshly, but I even enjoy candy corn, and candy corn pumpkins because I’m the guy that they still get made for. I know, my bad taste in candy is seconded only by my bad taste in movies.
But there is also something else that this time of year is known for too. This is one that I look forward to seeing every year, and it has already started. This is the time of year when we give to lots of folks in a variety of ways, and we share what we have with others. The Welfare Council has started this with sign-ups for Christmas Baskets, and the Juvenile Office is at work getting needs for toys for kids sorted out, and we’re getting ready for the other giving opportunities we have at this time of year.
Throughout this season we’ll have a number of different ways that we can give, but its not just about what we can give now. We are also in the process of looking at how we can give in the future. This isn’t just the money and offerings that we can give, but how we can give as a church in a wide variety of ways. I am thankful in the many ways that you all give, and I am looking forward to the opportunities we have for the future. As we go through this season, as you have that second (or third) piece of pie, reflect on the ways that we can give as a church that will impact our community in a positive way.
In this newsletter also look for some upcoming events like the Birthday Celebration coming up on Nov. 21st. We’re signing up folks to decorate tables in the Sanctuary. We’re also going to take advantage of everyone being there to get decorated for Christmas that day too!!!
At the end of the newsletter look for pictures from all the things that have been going on over the last month. There’s some good ones there.
Peace,
Pastor John

Thank You!
I want to say a special thank you to the folks from Children’s Division, Jamie and Jennie! They did a great job filling in while Emil, Jack and I were gone. They also gave us some great information on things that we can do. If you missed their message, you can find it below

Below are the folks that we remembered on All Saints Sunday. As you get a chance this week, say a special prayer for these families.
Orpha Circle will meet on Nov 10, 2021 at 1:30pm in the church Fellowship Room. We will have a Veterans Day program and guest speaker Wilma Jobson from the American Legion Post in Bucklin. Fay Lindbloom will have the devotion and is hostess. All ladies in the church are invited to attend, and anyone who is interested in the program is also invited to join us. Please bring items for the Food Pantry.
Year End Giving
We’re coming up on the end of the year, and also the end of the tax year. There are a variety of ways that you can make an end of year contribution.
